Who is forensic medicine for?

There are many cases in which the preparation of the medical-legal report becomes of absolute importance. Specifically, the cases can be divided into five macro categories:

• Accident at work - injury due to a fortuitous event, violent and external, which produces traumatic injuries, which occurred in the performance of work, resulting in death or disability (temporary or permanent)
• Road accident - an event involving vehicles, humans or animals and resulting in injury to people, things or animals
• Medical liability - when during the administration of a medical service, a medical error (diagnosis or therapy) causes damage to the patient who is the subject of the service
• Social security matters - to establish a person's right to receive certain social security benefits
• Autopsy - to determine the causes of death

The coroner analyzes the therapeutic and diagnostic path of each patient from a medical-scientific point of view. It also delves into the traumatic event to understand in detail how to compensate for the moral and financial damage suffered.
