Medical director: Doc. Cinchini Elisabetta
Quisisana is a highly qualified centre for the diagnosis and treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine, and the only centre in Italy to perform PLDD - Laser Decompression for herniated discs and disc protrusions, the minimally invasive treatment effective against herniated discs.
Responsible: Dr. Gian Paolo Tassi
Specialist in neurosurgery
Diseases of the spinal column include protrusions, small but often annoying herniated discs; herniated discs; concentric stenosis of the spinal canal and stenosis of the foramina exiting the nerves from the spine (foraminal stenosis) and acquired or congenital spondylolisthesis.
Numerous treatments are offered, of which PLDD is the most effective minimally invasive treatment for herniated discs and disc protrusions.
PLDD is performed by Dr. Gian Paolo Tassi, the only specialist in Italy to perform PLDD according to the method of Prof. Daniel S. J. Choy, inventor of PLDD and Dr. Tassi's tutor on PLDD in New York.
PLDD is therefore a minimally invasive technique for the treatment of herniated discs and disc protrusions.
The advantages of PLDD are numerous:
Quisisana provides the service of Spinal therapies as a paid service, book your visit now, or contact us for more informations.
PLDD is intended for patients suffering from disc herniation or disc protrusion and spinal canal stenosis.
The diagnosis consists of both clinical neurosurgical and possibly also neurological examination, physiatric and imaging diagnostics with standard X-rays but also in flexion-extension if necessary, nuclear magnetic resonance (rmn) and computed axial tomography (CT).
During the examination and at the end of the global assessment, Dr Gian Paolo Tassi will explain in detail to the individual patient both the problem he is suffering from (presumed diagnosis) and which of the above-mentioned treatment options is most suitable in his specific case.
Specialised in neurosurgery, Dr Gian Paolo Tassi is the only specialist in Italy authorised by Prof. Choy, the inventor of the method, to perform PLDD, with over 5000 operations performed.
He had the opportunity to do 3 different PLDD trainings at the Laser Spine Center in New York under the supervision of Professor Daniel S. J. Choy, inventor of PLDD and professor emeritus of medicine at Columbia University in New York. To date, he works all over the world.
