PLDD - Percutaneous laser disc decompression

Diseases of the spinal column include protrusions, small but often annoying herniated discs; herniated discs; concentric stenosis of the spinal canal and stenosis of the foramina exiting the nerves from the spine (foraminal stenosis) and acquired or congenital spondylolisthesis.

Numerous treatments are offered, of which PLDD is the most effective minimally invasive treatment for herniated discs and disc protrusions.

PLDD is performed by Dr. Gian Paolo Tassi, the only specialist in Italy to perform PLDD according to the method of Prof. Daniel S. J. Choy, inventor of PLDD and Dr. Tassi's tutor on PLDD in New York.

PLDD is therefore a minimally invasive technique for the treatment of herniated discs and disc protrusions.
The advantages of PLDD are numerous:

• anaesthesia is local, performed only in the affected area;
• it is a minimally invasive treatment, as only a needle is used, without cutting the skin or muscles, without removing ligaments or parts of bone, as is the case with traditional surgery, and it reaches, under radiological control, the centre of the intervertebral disc, i.e. the nucleus pulposus;
• no surgical scars are formed on the skin or adhesions near the nerves of the spinal column;
